So I started working at Ralph Lauren two months ago and I love it! In fact, I've been thinking about it so much that I've even been dreaming about it. I would think about the next day right before I'd go to sleep and have dreams about being there, just at my desk and in the showroom doing my day-to-day stuff. I felt like I was literally working 24/7. I then realized the obviousness that was staring me in the face - I'm dreaming about the last few thoughts I had before I went to sleep.
Ding ding ding!!
I should be thinking about my most glorious, wild and amazing dreams right before I go to bed: like levitating, hanging out with Rihanna, living in a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment with a private rooftop garden in Brooklyn with my amazing husband and two beautiful children, being CEO of the global non-profit community center - UC Compass, being the singer of a hugely successful (but still little) alternative Brooklyn-hippie band, meeting up with my family in a new country every 6 months....etc...
You know what though, I've been finding it quite hard! Living within the bounds of society and your own personal maze has made me set achievable goals that I know are within my reach - or could become within my reach. Since I've started thinking this way (and I have a feeling a lot of us do), I've forgotten to dream.
Now when I'm dreaming about the things I noted above, my mind almost makes fun of me and says 'don't waste your time'. Its been quite a struggle to put my analytical mind aside and let my right brain live.
In my life I think that it's hugely important to let your creative brain live for you. If your body agrees with what your right brain comes up with, your left brain will find a way to get you there. Remember there are three main components of your existence: you mind (left brain), body, and soul (right brain) - if two of them are on board for your dream, the third with come around and manifest it.
So right before you go to sleep tonight... Dream big! Imagine the best and top it! You have nothing to lose and if nothing else, at least you'll have a great time in your dreams.
Stay in tune,
Here's what I saw this week in NYC..
